Welcome to Les Chauvins, the perfect escape for a calm and relaxing getaway with family or friends.

Perched on rolling hills and tucked away at the end of a peaceful country lane on the Charente/Dordogne border, Les Chauvins offers the ideal antidote to the hassles of everyday life.

Our two charming 17th-century self-catering cottages boast a stunning pool nestled within the open ruins of an old barn and are set in over an acre of mature, landscaped grounds. Here, you can enjoy not only breathtaking views but also the soothing sounds of birdsong, the rustle of leaves, and the occasional call of wildlife. Watch the sun rise and set over the rolling landscape, and at night, marvel at the canopy of stars that fills the unspoiled sky.

Discover the charm of Les Chauvins, where these two beautifully restored 400-year-old gîtes provide the perfect setting for your next getaway.

For smaller groups, choose between Maison d’Amis, a spacious three-bedroom cottage (sleeping 6), or La Chaumière, an inviting two-bedroom haven (sleeping 4). Both gîtes are self-contained, and feature their own private outdoor spaces, blending charm, tranquility and contemporary comfort.

Together, the cottages can accommodate up to ten guests (plus little ones in cots), making Les Chauvins ensemble ideal for groups of friends, multiple families, or multi-generational gatherings. This setup offers the perfect balance of togetherness and privacy, allowing you to create unforgettable memories while still enjoying your own space.

Whether booked as a single property with exclusive use of the pool and grounds, or reserved individually with shared access to the pool, pétanque court, and the well-equipped games room, Les Chauvins offers you relaxation, connection, and a touch of history – your perfect holiday destination.

"Staying at Julia and Mac's cottage was like enjoying a little bit of heaven! We had a short stay at the end of a week and a half travelling around; it was the perfect end to our holiday. Julia and Mac were the best hosts, there to greet us, then letting us enjoy the cottage and grounds to ourselves, knowing they were available if needed. A delicious camembert and fig welcome 'snack' together with a lovely bottle of local wine was fabulous.

The 400-year-old cottage was beautifully renovated and so comfortable. But most of all, the grounds, views and facilities were amazing! From the terrace deck at the back of the cottage and adjacent sun loungers overlooking the rolling hills, providing a beautiful, totally private sun spot, to the lovely, also private, dining space in the front courtyard, with BBQ and hammock, the gorgeous swimming pool, with a shaded pool 'house', and a fabulous games room, we had the most blissful time and barely left! We will definitely endeavour to return!"
