Arrival and Departure The gîte(s) will be available to you from 4 p.m. on your arrival day until 10 a.m. on the day of your departure. Please do ask if you need flexibility – if it is at all possible, we will accommodate your request.

Barbeques Both gîtes have charcoal barbeques and will come with a small supply of charcoal to get you started.

Chef at home Do you have a special event to celebrate? If so, our local catering partners can prepare meals for you based on your preferences, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to craft delicious French dishes. They can also handle serving and clearing, allowing you to relax and enjoy your evening. Just let us know the basic details and we will put you in contact!

Cleaning at the end of your stay We do not charge a cleaning fee at the end of your stay, but we would be most grateful if you would leave the gîte(s) clean and tidy.

Cleaning Products We provide dishwasher tablets in Maison d'Amis, washing-up liquid, laundry detergent capsules, and other essential cleaning products for your convenience. (We regret there isn't space for a dishwasher in La Chaumière)

Comfortable Sleeping and Luxurious Towels Each room is equipped with cozy duvets, with the option of cooling organic cotton flat sheets for warmer nights. For your convenience, we provide Hammam towels for the pool as well as bathroom towels. These lightweight, Turkish-style towels are thinner, lighter, and dry quickly, offering both practicality and comfort.

Family-Friendly Amenities To make your stay easier (and subject to availability), we can provide two cots with mattresses and cot sheets, two highchairs, children's cutlery, plates, and bowls, and non-slip mats for the bathtubs. This way, you don’t have to bring too much extra equipment.

Fire pit La Chaumière has a firepit in the front courtyard and is supplied with the necessary kindling etc. to get started.

Fresh Produce from Our Garden Pèlease help yourself to fresh produce from our garden. Help yourself to figs, grapes, walnuts, or hazelnuts when in season, or from a selection of herbs, including rosemary, bay, thyme, and mint.

Games room The Games room is for the private use of the two gîtes only.

Gym equipment The gym equipment (comprising treadmill, cross trainer, resistance machine and free weights) is for the private use of the two gîtes only.

Hair care essentials Each gite has both a hair dryer and mini hair straighteners.

Here to help We live in La Ferme (see site map) with our labrador, Thursa, but please be assured that we will be respecting your privacy while you are on your holiday. We will only be a phone call away, however, if you need assistance – whether that be suggestions for local restaurants, a tube of toothpaste or a fresh towel.

High-speed internet High-speed internet access via Starlink is available in both gîtes.

Parking There is ample free parking – we will show you where you can park when you arrive.

Pétanque The pétanque court is for the private use of the two gîtes only.

Pet Policy One well-behaved pet is allowed in the gites but please do not allow them to roam outside and please do clean up after them! Dogs are welcome elsewhere on a lead but please, not in the pool area. There is a pet charge of €40 per stay.

Prepared meals Order delicious, ready-to-heat meals from our local caterer, delivered straight to you. This service can also be arranged for your arrival day for added convenience, removing the stress of the ‘just arrived supermarket scramble’! Let us know if this is of interest.

Smoking Please do not smoke in the gîte(s).

Swimming Pool The swimming pool will be open from April until mid-October, although as unheated it may not be warm enough to swim in until May for some. The pool is for the private use of the two gîtes only.

Toiletries We provide soaps and shower gel for your convenience. For other bathroom necessities, please feel free to bring whatever you may need.

Year-round comfort During the summer, fans are available in every room. However, thanks to the thick Charentaise stone walls, the gîtes naturally stay cool, so you can enjoy a refreshing atmosphere indoors.

Each of our gîtes is equipped with a cozy log burner in the living room, complemented by electric radiators or heaters in the other rooms to maintain comfort throughout. We supply all the firewood, firelighters, and kindling you'll need. Additionally, all our beds are fitted with heated blankets for extra warmth.
